As you may be aware I am in the final stages of packing for our move to Nanaimo. As I revisit pieces in my inventory I am reminded of all the places where I spent time capturing photos which inspired these paintings. I’m also reminded of all the support I have had and continue to have through my art journey. Thank you to all for following, liking, subscribing and purchasing my art. Your feedback is always appreciated.
Arriving in Sooke eight years ago with my art supplies I could not have imagined selling a painting, or ever entering an art show! I am feeling somewhat sentimental about leaving the South Island. As much as I will miss it, I am very much looking forward to getting my new studio space set up and squeezing paint.
Lots of stuff on the calendar coming up too!
I recently heard two pieces I submitted to the Federation of Canadian Artists 2024 Landscapes Exhibition have been recognized which means they will appear online for this exhibition coming up in a May. I’m very pleased to receive this recognition as the Landscapes Exhibition is one of the most popular art calls for the FCA with generally a higher number of submissions. I will send out a link once it is available.
I still plan to try and have a new piece ready for submitting to the Sooke Fine Arts (deadline June 1st!), fingers crossed!
I have also had a commission request to begin once I’m settled in our new home which I can’t wait to start.
Currently, I have this piece available at the https://metchosinartpod.ca/ in the Wonder of Water Show on until May 26th. Stop by to take in this fabulous collection of art in many different mediums and art forms.

I hope to stay connected with all of you either through my posts or in person at events I’m taking part in as an artist or attendee!
Stay tuned, I can’t wait to share new paintings with you as they appear on my easel!
til next time,
Jenny
