Shows & Stuff

It’s been a while…since September! Time for an update. The lovely fall weather here has been great for my daily walks in the leaf covered trails. I am enjoying every minute as I know colder weather is not far away.

I participated in the 3rd ANNUAL FINE ART & ARTISAN SHOW at Holy Trinity Church on October 19 & 20th. This was my first art market in Nanaimo. Great fun meeting and chatting with folks. I was pleased to be able be part of this show/sale with 24 other artisans. It was especially nice to see friends and have them take home this piece as well. Thank you to all who supported this show.

The Nostalgia Show at Ladysmith Art Gallery was great. I was honoured to have my painting Shack Island accepted for this exhibition. This piece is now back home and available directly from me. Feel free to check it out as well as others, see menu under Available Paintings.

2024 Federation of Canadian Artists Water Exhibition

More exciting news…my painting Reflection has been juried into this exhibition. It will be viewable online beginning November 19th-December 1st.

Times changing…daylight savings ending this weekend, November 3rd.

I’ve shifted gears a bit too. I was busy leading up to the art market so taking a break from my easel this past week. I am currently working on a design for my annual Christmas card. I design one each year to have printed for friends and family.

I have also been out plein air painting with an artist friend. Painting while chasing the light can be challenging, there is nothing quite like painting outside. I do enjoy the challenge. There is benefit in really seeing what I want to paint. Does that make any sense? Well hopefully it will so stay tuned.

Til next time,

Jenny

Described as one who sees the art in nature, it is here where my endless inspiration comes from. Loving the challenge of capturing the feeling of where I stand, I enjoy recreating that feeling on canvas.
