If you, like me, are curious…Ekphrastic poetry explores art. Using a rhetorical device known as ekphrasis, the poet engages with a painting, drawing, sculpture, or other form of visual art.
Thank you to the Nanaimo Arts Council for providing the opportunity to submit works of art and poetry for this event. More information is available here https://nanaimoartscouncil.ca/programs/ekphrastic-celebration/

What a lovely evening celebrating the first, second and third award winning poems and art work that inspired them. I am honoured to have my art inspire the third place award winning poem titled Reflections of Myself by Erin Tzvetcoff.

This was my first experience taking part in this type of collaboration and it reinforces my belief in the importance of art. What a joy to be part of.
til next time,
Jenny
