September 1st, really? Still feels like summer with perhaps a hint of fall on the horizon. I happen to love fall with all the colours, bring on the apples too! How about you? Do you enjoy the changes of the seasons, from where ever you are reading this? Perhaps your fall has come and gone…enjoy what every season brings!
Here’s a bit of a recap as well as where I will be having some of my art available to view and purchase over the next few weeks.
Tomorrow, September 2nd my art will come down from the Point of View Gallery at the Metchosin Arts and Cultural Centre. It has been a wonderful opportunity to showcase some of my larger pieces in a gallery setting for the month of August. Of course studio visits are welcome too, just send me a message to view my art.
Coming this Sunday, September 7th I will be hanging several pieces at the Serious Coffee, Hammond Bay location in Nanaimo. They will be up for the month, so drop by for a coffee and a look and let me know if anything appeals to you. Sales will be handled directly through me, so just shoot me a message if you like.
I will be delivering my Split View Shack Island piece to the buyer this week. I enjoyed participating in the Shack Island Show at the Community Gallery in the Nanaimo Museum this summer and very happy that this piece has found a home too.
I have one piece currently up at the Port Theatre in Nanaimo, have you been to a performance lately? Did you know there is local art for sale lining the walls of this theatre? So before the show or at intermissions have a wander to take a look. Sales are handled by the Nanaimo Arts Council. Reminds me I must check the Port Theatre upcoming schedule for shows coming this fall and winter.
I also have three pieces currently at https://artatthebayside.ca/, a satellite gallery to the MacMillan Arts Centre in Parksville. It is a wonderful curated show throughout the Bayside Resort. Lots to take in, wonderful selection of local art!
After a few sales from a fabulous day at a very well attended Ladysmith Arts on the Avenue on August 24th, I have now updated my Available and Sold pages on this site. I can not express enough how much I enjoy the engagement at markets like this one. Meeting and chatting with folks, and especially having a piece I only recently completed find a home! Thank you to all who attended and to the buyers who found homes for paintings, floats and cards too. Your support is so appreciated.
I took a bit of a break and I’m feeling now inspired to get back to my easel! The https://www.nanaimofca.com/ Fine Arts Show is coming up and I would love to have new work to submit. Watch for the jury results, I will be sure to let you know if any of my work is accepted. Dates for this show are November 13-16, 2025 at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in downtown Nanaimo. Mark your calendars, sales happen quickly at this show so you don’t want to miss out.
til next time,
Jenny
