October has arrived!

I love fall!

It’s been a bit so perhaps time for a little update?

Where’s my art these days?

I have these seven original pieces currently available at Serious Coffee, Hammond Bay location in Nanaimo. I really appreciate the opportunity provided by this local business to showcase local artists. If you have not had a chance, check it out soon as it will come down Sunday to make room for the next artists.

Starting today I have these two pieces in the Ladysmith Gallery Members Show ‘Giving Thanks’ which runs through October 22nd https://www.ladysmitharts.ca/. I’m looking forward to taking in this show. While I’m in Ladysmith maybe a visit to the Old Town Bakery? Have you ever had one of their famous cinnamon buns? Or possibly get in a bike ride on the Cowichan Valley Trail, great ride from Saltair to Chemainus all on bike path. Lots to be thankful for!

Something different…

I’ve been exploring a new project…collage working with arbutus bark, leaves etc. Thinking I may try a few of these 6”x 6” cradled panels using materials collected from my forested walks. Calling it ‘From the Forest Floor‘

In between painting it’s fun to shift gears, slow things down and work away on these, see where they take me. Stay tuned for more.

In Parksville?

Please check out the satellite gallery of the MacMillan Arts Centre (MAC) https://artatthebayside.ca/bios/jenny-adams/?mh=17 where I currently have work available as well. A lovely gallery hanging throughout the entire Bayside Resort, such a great opportunity to wander about and see all the local art they have available there.

Next up…

I’m getting submissions ready for the Fine Arts Show hosted by our chapter Nanaimo Federation of Canadian Artists https://www.nanaimofca.com/. It’s a four day event, November 13th-16th at the Vancouver Island Convention Centre downtown Nanaimo. This well-attended show is the second largest show on Vancouver Island drawing artists from not only Nanaimo but many other island communities.

Hope you get a chance to take it in, it’s well worth a visit. If you see something you like, sales from this show can happen quickly so to avoid disappointment don’t hesitate. See you there!

Looking ahead…I will be participating in the Nanaimo Art Walk put on by the Nanaimo Arts Council. More to come on this, save the dates November 22-23rd. It’s going to be a lot of fun.

Til next time,

Jenny

Described as one who sees the art in nature, it is here where my endless inspiration comes from. Loving the challenge of capturing the feeling of where I stand, I enjoy recreating that feeling on canvas.
