Things are happening!

Well what I can I say…after mentioning in my last update I would take a break from submitting to shows I’m back at it again. I am not participating in many markets at time of year and I do enjoy taking advantage of the opportunity. After all…submitting to shows is a membership benefit so might as well go for it, eh? I find getting more ‘eyes on my art’ and especially in person is a huge benefit too. Though can be disheartening at times, gotta be brave enough to try.

So here’s where you can see my art in person, the best way!

Rule of Four Show

March 4-19 https://www.ladysmitharts.ca/ladysmithgallery

This show promises to give you pause for thought for sure! When I heard about the call I wasn’t sure I had anything that could work. Calls like these are great for viewing your art through a different lens. Discovering these two fit the bill and pleased to say the jury agreed.

Powerful 18×24
Sea Watcher 24in x 24in

They are currently available at the Ladysmith Gallery. Be sure to drop by if you’re in the area or viewable online as well.

As a member of Nanaimo Arts Council I currently have this piece at the Port Theatre. Available for purchase through this link https://nanaimoartscouncil.ca/programs/galleries/sun-star-gallery/

Summer Rental 20×20

Arrowsmith FCA

The Final Chapter Show at Macmillan Arts Centre-Parksville. This show includes art work from members of the Arrowsmith Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists. This chapter is winding down so last opportunity to see a show from this group. I will have this piece in the show. There will be lots to see so drop by the MAC if you’re in the area. Here’s a link with the information https://mcmillanartscentre.com/the-final-chapter/

Springtime at Pipers Lagoon 16 x 20

I currently have these pieces at the Bayside Resort in Parksville. The satellite gallery of the MacMillan Arts Centre is one to check out for local art available for sale throughout the resort. Here’s the link https://artatthebayside.ca/bios/jenny-adams/?mh=17

Workshops coming up…

I have registered for two art workshops this Spring here in Nanaimo. One is later this month with Perry Haddock, another later in April with Doug Swinton. I enjoy painting with others, learning happens for me while ‘watching’ then ‘doing’ so the workshop setting usually works well for me. Both workshops are provided by the Nanaimo Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Here’s a link if you wish to enroll. They generally fill quickly so don’t hesitate. https://www.nanaimofca.com/workshops-1

Getting out there…

I’m also looking forward to getting back into the trails mountain biking. We live in a mecca for it! I inherited my husband’s old bike which is a much better fit for me (my existing mtn bike was always a little too small for me) I am a bit of a ‘fair weather’ rider but Spring is on its way. Between fitness classes and regular walks, I’ll throw in some more biking! All of this inspires me when I find time to return to my studio.

Til next time,

Jenny

Described as one who sees the art in nature, it is here where my endless inspiration comes from. Loving the challenge of capturing the feeling of where I stand, I enjoy recreating that feeling on canvas.
