Taking Stock

Hey! Where did March go? It’s time for an update!

I have been keeping busy taking stock of existing work, delivering art now available at https://artatthebayside.ca/art-gallery/?artist_match=25, as well as at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre, and Port Theatre. I continue to be inspired to create new pieces and have had a couple of successful show entries as listed below.

Life long learning…

I recently completed a 2 day workshop with https://www.davidlangevin.com/ painting Dynamic Animal Portraits in Parksville hosted by https://islandartsmag.ca/. I am familiar with David’s work and process painting in layers of glazes and veils to create depth. We painted a wolf, both challenging and fun using colours new-to-me watching the animal take shape. I don’t usually paint animals, a lot to take in during the 2 days but so worth it. What a great weekend learning, painting and sharing with all the other artists!

I have another workshop coming up at the end of this month, this one with https://dougswinton.com/. This is my first workshop with Doug Swinton. I am looking forward to tackling a few of the challenges I have. Wish me luck!

Described as one who sees the art in nature, it is here where my endless inspiration comes from. Loving the challenge of capturing the feeling of where I stand, I enjoy recreating that feeling on canvas.
