That’s a wrap!

I just unpacked after my latest summer market, last one of the season for me. I would like to thank the https://cowichanvalleyartscouncil.ca/ for putting on a very well organized Outdoor Art Market on Saturday July 25th. Well attended as it was held during the popular Duncan Farmers Market. The volunteers were amazing supporting vendors from set up to take down and in between offering water and support. Such a joy to be part of. Thank you!

I do enjoy the engagement with people seeing my work in person. It’s very rewarding to hear how a particular piece impacts someone. Comments I received included, ‘such depth in this one, this part, striking like it’s moving’, and ‘I like the calmness in your work, even the water moving has a calming effect’, as well as ‘wow, beautiful work!’

All of the feedback is so validating to me. Here I am pursuing a passion and it can have such an effect on others; that means a lot to me.

I have had the good fortune of selling my work. As well as being very gratifying (and honestly sustaining as sales help feed the creativity by providing supplies), creating art for me is really about more than sales. The pleasure I get from painting is so much more, from unwrapping that new canvas to squishing out fresh paint, the attempt to capture a place in time that brought such joy in hopes of sharing that with others is what it is all about.

Described as one who sees the art in nature, it is here where my endless inspiration comes from. Loving the challenge of capturing the feeling of where I stand, I enjoy recreating that feeling on canvas.
