The Conversation

Art is kind of like a conversation, one I have with myself throughout the process. I am often asking if I’m happy with the work. If the answer is yes, at this point I consider it finished. Although hearing comments about my art from others seems to validate the work further. It’s like that conversation where someone understands what you are trying to say, they get you. That’s how I feel about painting. I do it for me, while hopeful the viewer will ‘get it’.

I’m playing with a bit of a different style these days, trying different ways of laying the paint down. I’m interested to see where it takes me. The changes may be subtle but working towards a looser style. Here’s a few studies on canvas panels where I’m exploring that. (I have framed them and will have available for purchase at my markets in June)

Brené Brown

I apply regularly for exhibitions and I often receive a ‘thanks but not this time’ email response. It’s that courage to risk failure that also leads to success. So here’s where I had the courage to apply to have my art available.

Thank you to my subscribers, you really encourage me to post blog updates regularly. I decided to set up a website a few years ago to allow online access to my art and updates to those not wanting to engage through social media accounts. I really appreciate your support and am glad to have you along.

Back to getting stuff done,

Tim next time,

Jenny

Described as one who sees the art in nature, it is here where my endless inspiration comes from. Loving the challenge of capturing the feeling of where I stand, I enjoy recreating that feeling on canvas.
