Lots of positives…great feedback on my art from a pretty good attendance for the day. It was great to connect with fellow artists too. Weather was chilly at times but the rain held off so that was a bonus. To celebrate my first market of the season I held a draw for a free painting which seemed popular. The winner was selected on live reel (see my instagram and facebook posts) at 4pm. Thanks to all who took the time to enter! Some great ‘take aways’ for my next one coming up at the same location, Maffeo Park on June 27th. Hope you can drop by, would love to see you.
Before setting up for the market I delivered 6 pieces to Serious Coffee in Hammond Bay, Nanaimo. I have added a page to my website menu Serious Coffee Hammond Bay with these pieces (including prices) to give you a heads up to which ones I have selected for this location.
Results…the jury is in!
My piece titled Inside Out was accepted for the Echoes of Displacement Show at the Ladysmith Gallery https://www.ladysmitharts.ca/ladysmithgallery. The show is on now currently running through June 17th. I saw the show last Saturday, be sure to drop by to see some very intriguing art.
I apply regularly for exhibitions and I often receive a ‘thanks but not this time’ email response. It’s that courage to risk failure that also leads to success.
So here’s where I had the courage to apply to have my art available.

Although I did not make the initial cut for the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria TD Paint-In coming up on July 18th, I am on the wait list should a spot become available. I’ll keep you posted.
In jurying…
Here are my submissions for the 2026 Sooke Fine Arts Show https://sookefinearts.com/. I have been fortunate to have my work accepted for this wonderful show in the past. This is the largest art show on Vancouver Island, with a new jury each year, results anticipated on June 16th.
Show dates are July 25th to August 3rd. Stay tuned!
I just submitted this piece to the Federation of Canadian Artists Shape and Form Exhibition, results anticipated by July 3rd. The show dates August 11th to 23rd.
